Since my total hip replacement, gardening has been out of the question but recently I discussed this with my PT and she told me that gardening would be a reasonable goal.
The one catch was that I would need to have raised garden beds. This helps me avoid hip flexion past 90 degrees, internal rotation of my hip and twisting it. These movements can easily dislocate it.
My husband is setting about to build some raised beds based on what we would like to grow. They won't be ready till next spring, but neither will I!
