Rheumatoid arthritis symptoms can be crippling affecting and deforming the hands and other joints as the body attacks its own joints and tissues.
This form of arthritis occurs in the same joints on both sides of the body and include painful swelling, inflammation and stiffness of three
or more sets of joints. Often times, it is worse after long periods of inactivity such as sleeping or sitting. Thus, it is worse in the
morning when waking up. This form of arthritis is usually long term, chronic and can come and go for various reasons.
Many know the difficulty in treating this disease. Most drugs have side effects that aren't much better than the RA itself. Unfortunately, rheumatoid arthritis can also affect blood vessels, the spleen, heart, lungs, and skin making it seem a hopeless disease to fight.
